about

(slow, hypnotic, moody) 4:39 – a reminder that our time here is brief and to make the most of it.

I started writing this song when one of my best friend was diagnosed with cancer the day she found out the survival rate of her kind of cancer was about 20%. Her bravery and ‘never say die’ attitude inspired me both in the way she battled it (and thankfully she’s 5 years in remission), also facing mortality by examining what was really important to her. I wish we didn’t have to be facing a terminal illness to be reminded to make the most of our time here cause we never know how long we have. The clock is ticking from the time we’re born and we spend too much of it worrying and questioning when we’d do better to just take those leaps. Ya gotta fall to fly!

lyrics

Tick Tock Tick Tock hmmmm
Come to me now with your levity darling
Morning will soon be away
Together we’ll fight off the brevity darling
Now till the end of the day

The edge of the cliff, never looked better
The biggest of dreams were built on the nevers
Whiling away ll the worries and questions
Falling is part of the plan
Just don’t let go of my hand

Tick tock tick tock hmmm
Fly with me down to the precipice darling
Out from your comfortable cave
Sing then your soul to the envious starling
No time like now to be brave

Head first, spread wide your glorious feathers
Up from the ash defying the nevers
Turning away the worries and questions
Flying is part of the plan
Just don’t let go of my hand
